environmental services
Encountering and handling hazardous materials is an inseparable part of the demolition and full site preparation experience, yet many demolition firms choose to subcontract this work because of the advanced technical skills, techniques and certifications required. Environmental Waste Resources (EWR) is the hazardous material & hazardous waste division of Nuprecon, created in response to the increasing market demand for integrated demolition, abatement and site remediation solutions.

EWR safely provides a broad range of environmental services including abatement of asbestos, lead, mold, microbial, removal of PCB ballasts, mercury light tubes, performance of soil remediation and more. You can contract with EWR as either part of a full demolition package with Nuprecon or as a separate service. The range of projects we perform is very broad, from large commercial or institutional sites to multi-family residential, military base decommissioning and even low level radiation nuclear work. From the largest single asbestos abatement project in the Pacific Northwest (the South Terminal Expansion Project at Sea-Tac Airport) to the smallest residential mold remediation, EWR has built a reputation for our fast response time, quality work and a track record of fulfilling our customers’ requirements safely, on budget and on time.

Because hazmat surveys are not 100% accurate, it is not uncommon for hidden hazardous materials to bring a demolition project to a standstill. To effectively mitigate this risk, Nuprecon and EWR can use cross-trained and certified abatement and demolition workers when demolition must be performed on a site where there is a likelihood of encountering these hidden conditions. This cross training offers an invaluable service to General Contractors, preventing demolition activities from grinding to a halt if hazardous materials are encountered; instead, trained workers are able to immediately switch over to abatement work with no time lost waiting for an abatement crew to arrive.
